ETSU Wind Ensemble, Concert Band to perform end-of-semester concert, ‘Full of Spirit’

East Tennessee State University will host a concert of Christmas-themed music, “Full of Spirit,” at the Millennium Center ballroom on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 7:30 p.m.

The ETSU Department of Music’s Wind Ensemble, conducted by Christian Zembower, and the Concert Band, conducted by Joe Moore, will perform at the free public event. Songs that will be featured include “A Christmas Festival” by Leroy Anderson, “Lux Aurumque” by Eric Whitacre and “What Child is That Playing Carol of the Bells?” by Julie Giroux, among other songs.

Zembower is the director of bands and professor of music at ETSU. His duties include conducting the Wind Ensemble and Chamber Winds; teaching beginning and advanced conducting, band literature and instrumental music education methods courses; and, with the associate director of bands’ assistance, leading all aspects concerning the ETSU Bands program.

Moore is the director of athletic bands, associate director of bands and assistant professor of music at ETSU. His duties include directing the Marching Band and Pep Band, assisting with the Concert Bands program, teaching marching band techniques and arranging/orchestration, and co-teaching brass methods.
