ELIZABETHTON — A man convicted of selling methamphetamine can expect to serve a lot more time in prison because he was convicted of selling in a drug-free school zone.
ELIZABETHTON — Police Chief Jason Shaw said Monday a fatal shooting early Sunday morning at 220 W. I St. “appears to be a justifiable shooting and no charges are being sought at this time.”
UPDATE: The shooting was fatal, according to a family member of the deceased.

The body recovered from the Watauga River last Thursday has been identified as Jacob W. Hampton, 30, Elizabethton, a man reported missing by his family more than a month ago.
ELIZABETHTON — Police who responded to Sycamore Shoals Hospital on Thursday reported finding a woman suffering from multiple bruises and cuts to her face, arms, hands and legs.
