Body found in Johnson City woods

Police sought the public’s help with the investigation after a man’s body was found Saturday on the old Jonesborough Highway portion of West Walnut Street. Police suspected suicide.

The body was discovered about 5:30 p.m. in a wooded area in the 2800 block of West Walnut. Police said the dead man was about 60 years old, but they did not identify him. The investigation was continuing.
