According to a release from the Johnson City Police Department, officers were called to 1709 Buccaneer Drive about 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
Police said a tenant in the apartment below noticed water dripping from her ceiling and called a maintenance worker to investigate, leading to the discovery of the body.
Police said the body was transported to East Tennessee State University’s William L. Jenkins Forensic Center where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. An investigation by the police department’s Criminal Investigations Division was continuing on Sunday.
The name of the deceased was being withheld pending notification to the family.
