Car crashes into Stoney Creek store on Sunday afternoon

ELIZABETHTON — There were no injuries reported when a vehicle crashed into the front of the Sunoco Convenience Store on Tenn. Highway 91 at 1 p.m  Sunday.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Nannie R. McKinney, 60, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Impala through the parking lot of the convenience store, turned into a parking space and failed to stop.

The car crashed though the glass front windows near the area where an automated teller machine is located. There was no one standing near the ATM at that moment. The car was completely inside the store.

Randy L. Tolley, 54, was a passenger in the vehicle. He was reported to be uninjured.

The Stoney Creek Volunteer Fire Department responded to the accident.

McKinney was charged with DUI (drugs).
