Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Jonesborough man Wednesday on charges from two burglaries — one at a residence and second at an adult novelties store.

Sheriff Ed Graybeal said Michael Gregory Clark, 249 Ridgecrest Road, was captured in Indiana and extradited back to Washington County, where he was served with two warrants Wednesday.

In September 2018, deputies investigated a home invasion in the 300 Block of Ridge Crest Road, Jonesborough, where a man had entered a home through a window and fled after being confronted by the homeowner. Deputies and K9 police dogs unsuccessfully searched the area. Clark was identified after his fingerprints were recovered from the crime scene. Graybeal said Clark confessed to the break-in to investigators after being questioned.

On July 27 of this year, Intimate Treasures, 3824 West Market St., was burglarized. The sheriff said Clark was identified using security camera recordings, and he also confessed to that burglary. For that burglary, Clark was indicted earlier this month by a Washington County grand jury on charges of burglary and theft of property.

He was charged with aggravated burglary from the Ridgecrest Road home invasion.

Clark was held in the Washington County Detention Center under $15,000 awaiting a Sessions Court appearance set for Thursday.
