JCPD: Shoplifter pulled out knife when confronted

Johnson City police arrested a Blountville man Wednesday after responding to a report about shoplifting at the Walmart on Browns Mill Road. 

A loss prevention associate old officers Daniel W. Brown, 39, 337 Brown Circle Road, tried to leave the store with merchandise. When Brown was confronted, police said, he pulled out a knife and turned the blade toward the worker. 

Brown was later found on Chickasaw Street and charged with aggravated robbery, driving on revoked license/multiple and unlawful possession without a prescription. He was held in the Washington County Detention Center on $10,000 bond and set to appear in Sessions Court Thursday.
