A criminal investigation into sexual misconduct allegations against a David Crockett High School teacher is ongoing, Washington County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Leighta Laitinen told the Johnson City Press Thursday.

Dillon Roberts received a letter from Director of Schools Kimber Halliburton in October informing him of his immediate suspension without pay from the school. According to that letter, the Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation into allegations Roberts participated in sexual misconduct with a minor.

The letter says the minor who made the allegations is not a student at Crockett, and there are “no allegations that any misconduct occurred at or on school property.” Roberts remains suspended without pay while the investigation is continuing.

Last month, Halliburton suspended another Crockett employee without pay. Halliburton sent instructional assistant and coach Calvin Walker a letter informing him of his suspension on Jan. 12 for “investigation into allegations of conduct unbecoming to an employee of the Washington County School System.”
