A Jonesborough man was arrested Thursday after trying to pay for items at Roadrunner, 1702 W. Market St., with a fake $100 bill, Johnson City police said.

When police responded to the call, they arrested John David Saults, 37, 607 John Greene Rd., and said they discovered less than a gram of crack and a pipe in his possession. He was charged with criminal simulation, simple possession and drug paraphernalia.

Saults was taken to the Washington County Detention Center and held on $12,000 bond. He will appear in Sessions Court Friday.
