BLOUNTVILLE — A Sullivan County grand jury has indicted a man for allegedly raping a child this past summer.

Allen Tolley, 26, of Chambers Hollow Road in Elizabethton, was arrested on Thursday. As of Monday morning he remained held in the Sullivan County jail on $75,000 bond.

Last month the Sullivan County District Attorney's Office presented evidence in the case to a grand jury. According to presentments, Tolley sexually penetrated the victim, who is less than 13 years old, on two occasions in July.

The alleged crimes were investigated by detectives at the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, with a Bluff City police officer also listed as a witness to the grand jury.
