Pets of the Week

Jared Bentley • Jul 2, 2019 at 3:53 PM

There are so many pets in need of forever homes in our region, and plenty of people who could offer them the love and care they need. If you are one of those people, take some time and visit one of your local shelters, find a new family member to take home, and give them the love and life they deserve.

This week’s Pets of the Week are currently residing at the Washington County/Johnson City Animal Shelter, where the staff does a wonderful job caring for those in need - but they sure would like some help, especially if that means you’re looking to adopt.

• Shrimp is a seven-month-old, domestic short hair, male cutie who loves company. A cream-colored tabby with a great attitude, he is loving and playful, and one of the sweetest cats I’ve encountered in my visits to the shelter, so please pay him a visit and see if he’s the right fit for your family and home.

• Buddy is a big, handsome boy with a lot of love to give. He is a four-year-old, neutered, male Sharpei/Lab mix, and he is a little standoff-ish right now. He likes being around people and other dogs, and I think if he were given a little time and attention, he’d get over the hesitation and be a wonderful dog to share life with. Come see for yourself!

• Sissy is a sweetheart —an adult, female, domestic short hair with a wonderful, striking, gray and black coat and a happy, playful demeanor that makes you want to spend some time with her. She is spayed and healthy and ready to go home with you!

• Daisy loves attention, and loves to be the center of it. Once you meet her, you’ll see why she deserves it. A young adult, female, Boxer/Hound mix, she is beautiful and happy, and just as sweet as any dog you’ll ever meet. She understands commands, loves kids and other animals, and wants nothing more than to cuddle up and show some love. Could that be with you? I hope so.
