If you were in Founders Park on Saturday afternoon, chances are you saw more than a few leashes. The weather was just right for dogs to take their human companions out for strolls through the park in downtown Johnson City.

Some came to participate in Bark in the Park, an event sponsored by the Rotaract Club as an an adoption drive for the Washington County Animal Shelter and Humane Society. The society brought out several shelter dogs to meet potential adoptive families and wound up with the several applications.

Meanwhile, other people were out with their dogs — or their friends or families — to soak up the spring sunshine.
