Pets of the Week

Spring is here, and that means the weather will hopefully be changing for the better. While that means fun and sun for most, it also means there will be a huge influx of cats and dogs at your local shelters, as mating increases and more animals venture outside.

So, while you are out enjoying things, make sure you keep an eye out for animals in need, and keep an open heart for those housed in kennels across the region. They can always use more help at our local shelters, as well as any donation you can provide.

This week’s Pets of the Week:

• Akira is a beautiful, one-year-old, female Boxer/Pitbull mix who loves attention. She is a big fan of kids and other animals, and enjoys cuddling and playing as much as possible. She is an active dog, and has a very sweet demeanor —pay her a visit and you’ll want to take her home!

• Sabrina is a one-and-a-half-year-old, female Tabby who loves to play and be involved. A sweet girl with a beautiful orange coat, she is overly friendly and curious, and would be an amazing addition to any home or family - all she needs is a chance to prove it. Spend some time with her, and give her that chance.

• Rocket is a handsome, one-year-old, male Spaniel mix, and he put an immediate smile on my face when I saw him. He is very outgoing, friendly, and active, and he loves to be around people and other animals. He has a white coat with black and brown spots, and loving eyes that yearn to see a new home, so please let it be yours! Come visit with Rocket, and see for yourself —he’s a keeper.

• Motley is a two-year-old, spayed, laid back, female Torbie. She is a big girl who loves to be touched and held, very playful and fun, and all about the attention. She has a soft, black and gray coat, and enjoys the chance to be around people and other animals, especially when they are paying attention to her. Did I mention she likes attention? She would be the perfect cat for your family, just spend some time and see.
