Pets of the Week

Our local and regional shelteres are almost always full. Full of dogs. Full up with cats.

There are so many animals in need of loving homes, I would hope someone who wants a new pet or family member would make the trek to a facility and pay them a visit before considering other means of acquiring a pet.

There are some awful good options at the shelter in Elizabethton - here are this week’s Pets of the Week:

• Calamity Jane is not calamitous at all - far from it. This beautiful, sweet, and playful girl is a perfect choice for someone looking to extend their family. A young adult female, she has a gorgeous black and white coat, and loves to play and run. She is not only adorable, her personality is evident and ebullient. Take her home!

• Naketa is an adorable, sweet, nine-month-old, female, domestic short hair who loves to be touched and held. A beautiful white and tan Calico, she is quiet and reserved, but also relished the times she can be playful and active. Visit her and see for yourself!

• Buttercup is just as sweet and adorable as her name suggests, and she would love the opportunity to prove it to you. If you have a few minutes, or hours, this eight-month-old, spayed, female domestic short hair  would certainly appreciate the visit. She is a gray Tabby with a wonderful attitude, and could be the perfect fit for your family!

• Pyke is a very sweet, handsome boy looking for a good place to spend the rest of his life. Respectful and attentive, this one-and-a-half-year-old, brindle and tan German Shepherd mix would make the perfect dog for a young family (or anyone else seeking companionship and protection). He is playful and fun, but also easy to work with —pay him a visit and see for yourself!
