If you don’t have a pet or friend at home who needs to come in for the night, you’re in luck - our local shelters have plenty of wonderful animals to take home for the winter.
Here are a few from the Carter County shelter in Elizabethon, this week’s Pets of the Week:
• Gomer Pyle is a six-month-old, male, red and tan, brindle-coated Pit/Lab mix who loves people and attention. A very handsome boy, he is very calm and easy to get to know —sweet and sad to be caged at the shelter, and ready to go home with you. If you get a chance, pay him a visit and take him back to your place!
• Daisy is a beautiful, sweet, three-year-old female Lab/Retriever mix. She is a little scared right now, which is understandable, and she wants to go home with a loving family. She deserves it. She is talkative and loving, and hopes to show a new family what a good girl she can be. Visit and see for yourself.
• Clementine, a cream-coated domestic long hair, is pretty fond of lounging. She likes attention, but she’s also happy to just sit and enjoy quiet company. She is sweet and laid back, and if that’s the kind of girl you’re looking for, she just might be the one for you.
• Wally is a cool little fella who knows how to be a pal. A three-month-old, male, domestic short hair, this gray Tabby is friendly, active, and he loves to pose. When the camera came out, he was happy to stay in position, and enjoy his time in the spotlight. I’d bet he’d make a wonderful friend at your house!
