Starting in 2019, you can sponsor a kennel at the shelter for a full year.
The sponsorship comes with a customizable plaque that will hang on the kennel for the entire year, and the money will help fund vaccines, flea treatment and other vet bills for all animals at the shelter.
“The whole concept behind this is that individuals or groups or organizations can come together and they can purchase a dog kennel or cat condo,” Shelter director Tammy Davis said. “if they sponsor that kennel or condo, it will give those dogs and cats a safer, happier, healthier place to stay until they find their new homes.”
Interested individuals or groups can contact the shelter to sponsor a kennel. Rates are:
• $300 per dog kennel
• $125 per cat condo
• $1,000 per cat community room
• $4,000 for dog isolation kennels
• $3,000 for the kitten nursery
• $3,000 for cat isolation cages
“The sign will hang for an entire year, and the money we make from this program will be put into a fund to help us pay for the vaccines that every dog and cat receives when they come into the shelter, the deworming medicine that they need, flea treatment,” Davis said, adding, “It also helps if an animal gets sick, we can afford the antibiotics that they need.”
Sponsorships for individual animals are still available, Davis said, for those who connect with an animal but are unable to bring it home. Individuals can cover the spay/neuter and vaccination costs to lower the adoption fees of that animal to increase its chances of finding a home.
