Police seek rare dog stolen in Kingsport burglary

KINGSPORT — A weekend burglary at a city residence has police seeking the whereabouts of a uniquely colored English bulldog reportedly valued at $3,500.

At about 5:30 Friday evening, a woman called officers to her home in the 800 block of Dale Street. She said that when she went into a room to let her dogs out of their kennels, she discovered one kennel was damaged and one dog was missing.

According to Kingsport Police Department Public Information Officer Tom Patton, a window in the room was standing open and believed to be the point of entry. The stolen 1-year-old English bulldog — which answers to “Gordo” — sports a black and brown coloration that is rare to his breed. Investigators believe it is unlikely any others are in the area. More on the missing pooch from the Kingsport Times News.
