Pets of the Week

Jared Bentley • Jul 19, 2018 at 6:35 PM

The heat is still a daily problem for the staff and animals at the shelter, but you wouldn’t know it by watching the people and animals as they move throughout the day.

Volunteers are happy to be here, happy to be working with the dogs and cats. Staff members are always positive, always willing to help and find homes for the pets on hand. There is a mission, a sense of purpose, and a sincere effort to improve the lives of each of the animals here —and more people should be involved.

Visit the shelter and see how you can help, what you can do to aid in the day-to-day operations, and where your efforts could best be utilized. You’ll be glad you did, and you’ll feel all the better for it.

This week’s Pets of the Week:

• Ginger is an adult, spayed female Tabby with a very sweet disposition. A domestic short hair with a light orange coat, she loves to be touched and held, but is still shy enough to initially keep her distance. Pay her a visit and see how she could be a part of your home.

• Brew is a beautiful, outgoing, and personable black domestic short hair who loves young people. She has been spayed, and is ready to go home with you today - especially if you have a family and a comfortable chair you are willing to share.

• Banjo is a handsome fella, and although he has an injured back leg, he doesn’t let it get him down. A three-year-old tri-color Terrier mix, he needs lots of love and attention, and he’s willing to pay it back in spades. Give him a chance, and see for yourself.

If Beagles are your breed, and you like them sweet, smart, and handsome, then Alvin might just be the dog for you. A one-and-a-half-year-old tan and white male, he has been neutered and is ready for adoption. He is active and confident, and he loves people and other animals. Take him home!
