WCJC Animal Shelter, July 13 - VIDEO

It is extremely hot this summer, and outside animals need plenty of water and cool spaces to rest. Much like bringing them in during the winter, your pets also need inside time during the summer - heat is a killer, so please don’t let that happen to an undeserving dog or cat.

Heat is an issue at your local shelters as well, especially for an animal that doesn’t get time to walk and cool off. With more volunteers, there would be more walk time. More time to stretch legs and feel a breeze.

There are so many wonderful animals in need of attention and time at your local shelters, and they deserve every bit of love and time you can offer. Visit with them. Spend time. Donate things they need. Volunteer.

Hopefully, in the long run, that will lead to happier dogs and cats, fewer strays and problems, and the chance that you will fall in love and take one of these perfect pets home with you. It really is one of the greatest things you can do.
