Do you know this bird?

A Johnson City man had a “Snow White” moment over the weekend, and now is hoping to find the owner of the “sweetest little bird” that visited him out of the blue.

Michael Crowder said he was out in his yard Sunday night near the Pine Oaks Golf Course when a small yellow bird landed on his neighbor’s roof. To his surprise, when he whistled, the bird flew down and landed on his shoulder.

After doing some research, Crowder believes the bird is a parrotlet, and likely has an owner somewhere nearby who is looking for it. Crowder set up a cage for it, and said it’s very friendly and is not afraid of dogs.

Crowder hopes to reunite the bird with its owner. If you are the owner or know the owner, you can contact him at michaeldougcrowder@gmail.com or at 423-268-3292.

He said he will ask for proof of ownership, like a photo.
