It was pouring down pretty hard during my visit to the shelter yesterday, so I wanted to get inside as soon as possible. I happened to visit on a Wednesday, however, and Wednesdays are not the best days for visits, it seems.
The staff made me very welcome, and allowed me to do my video tour, but the front doors were closed to the general public. Wednesday afternoons are reserved for upkeep and care at the facility these days, and while I was there, plenty of work was getting done - floors were being mopped and cleaned, dogs were being fed, walked, and cared for, and cages were getting cleaned and scrubbed.
While it was disappointing to those who drove up to visit with the animals, it seems the shelter crew is making the most of their mid-week shuttering and getting needed work done.
Oh, and there were plenty of animals who were very excited to see someone walk their way, camera or no. Check out the video to see who’s in need of a home this week (and every week).
