Pets of the Week

Jared Bentley • May 17, 2018 at 11:30 AM

This week’s choices for Pets of the Week offer a little something for everyone. Or at least something new for the hoppy fans out there.

Every now and then, the shelter will house a rabbit, or guinea pig, or ferret for adoption. Sometimes there are birds. No matter the breed of the exotic animal, if there are new tenants in the small middle room, I try to add them to the Pets of the Week.

This week —rabbits.

• Rosetta is a laid back sort for a rabbit. This calico-coated, long-eared adult female still has the heavy breathing associated with her species, but she’s not overly excited or nervous with people. She’d make a great addition to any rabbit-friendly family.

• Lola is the other rabbit at the shelter right now, and she is not happy to be in a cage, or to be prodded or poked at. Nervous and fearful, she is a prime example of most rabbits’ reaction to people. She is an adult female with a dark brown coat, and someone should take her home and treat her with love, kindness, and kid gloves. Pay her a visit soon!

• Silica is a two-year-old female domestic long hair who more than likely gets a lot of attention - its hard to look at her and not realize her beauty. A gray-white-black Siamese with blue-gray eyes, she will attract attention —and she is as sweet as she is attractive. Come see for yourself.

• Duke and Dulce are eight-week-old Boxer mixes, one female and one male, and they are adorable. One has a chocolate-brown coat and the other is a classic tri-color, and they both love to be around people. They are playful, sweet, well-behaved, and full of love just waiting to be shared. Take them both home and start a new life for all of you.
