Shelter Director Shannon Posada and her staff work very hard to provide the animals housed here with the best possible life they can. There’s a lot of attention and love given, and a lot of familiarity developed between the people and the animals, which makes for a great dynamic during my visits — I get to see which dog or cat has made an impression that week.
Bonus: this week, I got to meet Mouse, who is the current shelter dog, it seems. A chubby little old Chihuahua, Mouse seems to have a free run in the cat rooms, and helps keep an eye on things. If you get a chance, stop by and visit him. He’s a lot of fun to hang out with.
