Pets of the Week

Jared Bentley • Dec 7, 2017 at 4:08 PM

There weren’t a lot of people at the shelter this week when I visited. One of those days that leaves you with a sadness, hoping that the animals in need will eventually find a home.

That feeling is tempered somewhat by the happy nature of many of the animals, but it can also be magnified when you encounter a dog or cat who really, really needs to be out of their cage. There were a few of those during today’s visit, which consisted mostly of cats.

Today’s visit to the Washington County/Johnson City Animal Shelter was a cat day.

This week’s Pets of the Week:

• Dale is an adult neutered male domestic short hair who wants out of his cage badly. He is a brown and gray tabby, and he loves to play and climb, which is hard when you’re locked up all day every day.

• Tater Tot is a ten-to-twelve-week-old white and gray kitten who exudes charm, cuteness, and fun. He is a neutered male domestic short hair in need of a family to play with. Take him home!

• Dacey is an adult spayed female domestic short hair. She is sleek and black, and scared, yet still somehow curious and fun. She just needs to get comfortable with a good family around her.

• Miff is another black cat to make the list. And eight month old spayed female domestic short hair, she is very playful and active, despite having recent surgery. Take her home!

You can visit the Washington County/Johnson City Animal Shelter at 3411 North Roan St., or visit them online at tailchaser.org. You can also call at 423-926-8769.
