He was an electrical contractor and electrician in Chattanooga for over twenty years. He grew up in Johnson City, TN and graduated from Science Hill High School in 1972.
Walt was a kind soul who was always willing to help others. He had a deep love for his family, friends, and his dogs.
Walt was preceded in death by his father, William “Bill” Berry; and sister, Elizabeth “Libby” James.
He is survived by his mother, Martha Berry and sisters, Diana Solomon (Bart); and Barbara Jordan (Robert Hookey), all of Chattanooga. His nieces and nephews Jesse James (Jenn Main), John James (Falon Culp), Luke James (Dusty), Lindsey Jordan, Taylor Jordan, Haley Solomon, Lauren Solomon, Joseph Hookey (Jessica) and grandnieces and nephews Chase and Zadie James and Garrett and Hayden Hookey.
A celebration of life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on January 12, 2019, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Chattanooga, 3224 Navajo Drive. Join the family for fellowship and food following the celebration. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Humane Education Society of Chattanooga at www.heschatt.org/give in Walt’s memory.
