Veda Maxine Hensley Peake

ERWIN - Veda Maxine Hensley Peake, age 83, Erwin, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019 at the Center on Aging and Health.

She was a native of Unicoi County and daughter of the late S.V. and Katherine Hensley.

Mrs. Peake lived in Summersville, SC before moving to Jonesborough in 1990.

She attended Cherry Grove Baptist Church and West Hills Baptist Church. Mrs. Peake was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, James Peake on November 17, 2018; three brothers: Hobert, Dale and Roger Hensley; two sisters: Geneva Watts and Anna Belle Lewis.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, one daughter, Marina Peake (David), Dallas, TX; one sister, Mardell Wilson, Erwin; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be held at 3:30 P.M. on Thursday, January 10, 2019 in the Evergreen Cemetery. Reverend Kevin Laws will officiate. Pallbearers will be Randall Lewis, Aaron Lewis, Mitchell Watts, Terry Wilson, Damon Wilson and David Higgins. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 3:15 P.M. on Thursday.
