Mr. Williamson was born in Roanoke, VA and the son of the late Aubrey & Helen McCoy Williamson. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Hubert Self.
He was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, drag racing and gardening. Most of all he loved his family. Especially his two sons who brought so much joy and happiness to him. He was so proud of the men they have become. His wife, he loved to tell the story how they met at Myrtle Beach and how their love story began with just a simple toss of a frisbee. His daughter-in-law who he had developed a special bond with since she became a part of the family. His granddaughter whom he loved dearly. No matter where someone might see Gary he was always showing pictures and telling Mamie Jewel stories she was definitely his pride and joy.
