Red Barn cancels music season until next year

Unicoi County’s Red Barn will not open its doors for live music this year due to the COVID-19 capacity restrictions, according to owner Burl Mast.

Due to the venue’s size and age group of Red Barn’s regular clientele, Mast said he feels “it’s best to keep the Red Barn closed” instead of reopening on June 4 as planned in May.

“We love our people and want to keep them safe,” he told the Press Thursday. “If the situation permits, we will try to open in May of 2021.”
