Nightlife Band at Memorial Park: Senior Services at Memorial Park Community Center, 510 Bert St., will feature Jerry Pierce and the Nightlife Band at the first Friday Night Dance of the new year from 7-10 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17. The dance is for those 50 and older and will be held in the MPCC gymnasium and dining room. All Female ACDC Tribute at Bristol 423 Social: 423 Social, located at 2623 Volunteer Pkwy. in Bristol, Tennessee will host “Shoot to Thrill” a female ACDC tribute band, Saturday at 8 p.m. For more information, find 423 Social on social media or call 423-278-5552. 

Appalachian Skies at Bays Mountain Planetarium: Kingsport’s Bays Mountain Planetarium will take visitors on a majestic tour of the evening sky using the spectacular Carl Zeiss ZKP-4 star projector instrument as part of its “Appalachian Skies – Winter” feature, running until March 1. Produced in house and led by planetarium staff, learn what fascinating constellations and planets will be easily visible. Music at Willow Tree Coffeehouse and Music Room: On Friday, Dangermuffin will take the stage at Willow Tree at 8 p.m., followed by Yarn with Donnie and the Dry Heavers, Saturday at 8 p.m. Yarn and Dangermuffin will return Sunday at 2 p.m. for an acoustic performance. Yoga at Memorial Park: Senior Services at Memorial Park Community Center, 510 Bert St., is now holding a yoga class from 6-7 p.m. each Wednesday. The class is designed for beginners and older adults but open to those age 18 and older. The cost is $5 per class. Register in person at MPCC on the evening of class. Senior Services offers film series American Film Noir: Senior Services at Memorial Park Community Center, 510 Bert St., is hosting a free, ongoing film series led by Dr. J. Catherine Herbert. She will hold discussions on various movies that have impacted and transformed American culture. Those 18 and older are welcome to join in from 1:15 to 4 p.m. each Wednesday.
