The Crooked Road: Virginia’s Heritage Music Trail presents The Wildmans in concert on Thursday, June 13, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Southwest Virginia Cultural Center & Marketplace (formerly Heartwood) in Abingdon, Virginia. Visit www.thecrookedroad.org.

Evening at the Market: Visit Kingsport, Downtown Kingsport Association and the Kingsport Farmers Market invite you to the Evening at the Market series, the second Thursday of each month from June through September. Tonight’s musical performer is Lonesome River. Evening market hours are 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., and the concert kicks off at 6. The market will also show the live battle for Best Long Island Tea on a big screen.

Kingsport Twilight Alive Summer Concert Series: Enjoy free concerts at 7 p.m., every Friday throughout the summer on the 100 block of Broad Street. Bring a lawn chair. June 14: Chicago Rewired. Founders After 5 with Rhythm & The Roosevelts: On Friday at 6 p.m., Rhythm & The Roosevelts will be performing at Founders Park during the Founders After 5 concert series. The free 2019 concert series featuring various acts began May 10 and will continue Friday evenings until Sept. 27. Sounds of Summer in Bristol: This week’s Bristol Sounds of Summer downtown concert series will feature the Catalinas at the Downtown Center, Thursday at 7 p.m. For more information on the concert series and other upcoming acts, visit the City of Bristol, Tennessee’s Facebook page. Lakeside Concerts at Winged Deer Park: The Lakeside Concert Series are from 7-9 p.m. each Thursday through Aug. 8 at Winged Deer Park, 199 Carroll Creek Road, Johnson City. Victor Lawson and Boogie Chillen will perform this week. For more information, call 423-283-5815.

Covered Bridge Celebration: The Annual Covered Bridge Celebration will be held Friday and Saturday at Covered Bridge Park, each day from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. The celebration will include a number of acts and events, including Friday night headliner Jeff Woods, who takes the stage at 8. Saturday night’s music gets started at 5 p.m. with Bill and the Belles. Headliner John Berry will close the celebration at 8 p.m. 

Timeline Festival and Northeast Tennessee Heritage Fair: The second annual Rocky Mount TimeLine and Heritage Festival will be held Friday and Saturday at Rocky Mount State Historic Site. The festival will feature seven historic re-enactor groups, seven heritage organizations in the region and a wide variety of activities for the whole family to enjoy. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. 

Hot Nights, Cool Music summer concert series: The renowned duo Al Petteway and Amy White takes the stage on Saturday at 7 p.m during the Hot Nights, Cool Music summer concert series at the Regional Center for the Performing Arts Theater on Northeast State’s Blountville campus. The show is free and open to the public.

Bonus — Beginner birding: Walk the Duck Island loop at Warriors’ Path State Park in Kingsport Tuesday, June 18, to learn about birding and identification. Birders will meet outside the rec building at 9 a.m. Bring water, comfortable shoes, and a hungry brain — and binoculars if you have them (Warriors’ will have some extras).
