Yarn Exchange Radio Show to host comedy night

Contributed • Apr 15, 2019 at 8:47 AM

Embarrassing moments. We all have them. This month, the Yarn Exchange has collected some timeless and classic moments we wish we could relive and (do over) for a fun and exciting evening of laughter.

Most of the stories submitted this month fall under the category of “anonymous teller.” However, there are enough clues, if one listens closely enough, to figure out to whom these mortifying moments belong.

Who sat in the backseat of a Packard with the family goat, trying to hide his face from his friends as his father drove down Main Street? What principal’s daughter ended up having the police called to her dorm room, when she was only trying to read Socrates? What chaplain of the Daughters of the American Revolution got caught in the liquor store? These stories and other historical hijinks from Jonesborough’s past will be presented on stage at the International Storytelling Center on April 22.

The production, staged as an old-time radio show, will begin at 7PM. Seating is limited, and advance reservations are recommended. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased online at jonesborough.com/tickets, or by calling the Jonesborough Visitors Center at 423-753-1010. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission.
