Annual Christmas dance to be held in Jonesborough

The annual Jonesborough Christmas Dance will be held on Friday from 7-10 p.m. at the Jonesborough Community Center, 117 Boone St., Jonesborough.

The cost is $6 and refreshments will be served.

This is always a festive holiday treat where attendees can increase their Christmas spirit, as most everyone sports their favorite holiday dress. It’s also a great stress reliever, providing a much needed break from the holiday rush.

To make the event even more special this year, the dance music will be provided by a very talented band, Shades of Refinement. This highly rated five-piece group has played various venues in the Tri-Cities and knows how to keep participants in action all evening by playing favorite classic rock, oldies, country and beach selections.

In addition, they recently cut an album featuring their original rockabilly/jazz/blues selections that may provide dancers with additional variety.

While the event is billed as “Ballroom Dance,” a variety of music is played from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s that provides enjoyable dance opportunities for everyone — such as the Twist.

Also, line dance lessons are offered at 6:30 and during the break.
