I’m very concerned after listening to Corker say many times he would not support a bill that increases the deficit, but voted for one in the Senate Budget Committee. Not only will this bill increase the deficit by more than a $1 trillion, it will strip health insurance coverage from millions of people.
It will increase taxes on middle-class families, and it will affect families all across the country, including thousands in Tennessee, who depend on Medicare, Social Security and education and housing programs, all of which will see drastic cuts if this tax plan becomes a reality.
At a time when American families need tax relief more than ever, it’s appalling that Republicans are fighting to deliver relief to the 1 percent and giant corporations instead, while hiking taxes on middle-class families and hurting small businesses.
It’s time for Corker to get serious about real tax reform and reject this sham of a bill once and for all. Corker should stand up for Tennesseans and vote "no" on the GOP tax bill. You have nothing to lose, but your constituents do.
