“People need to come to the Farm Expo because it will be a fun weekend,” said Johnson City Press and Kingsport Times News organizer David Hyde. “We have over 20 seminars on stage, plus announcing the county and regional farmer of the year, a charity auction and, of course, the 4H Petting Zoo and Discovery Center.”
This year’s event will be held at Bristol Motor Speedway, 151 Speedway Boulevard, on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5 per car, and parking is free.
This will be the expo’s second year back after a hiatus from 2014 to 18. Last year’s event drew 4,000 people from across the region, prompting a move to the bigger space at BMS.
“I think the Farm Expo is important because of how important agriculture is to this region,” Hyde said. “No matter where you turn you see a beautiful landscape filled with farms of every kind. This event celebrates our region's farmers as no other event can.”
