Dec. 15, 2005: Food City’s fundraising efforts brought in $25,000 for East Tennessee State University’s new College of Pharmacy, leaders from the company and the university announced. Food City also signed on for its pharmacies to be host sites for the college’s clinical eduction programs.

Dec. 15, 2007: ETSU awarded 1,285 degrees. Graduates included Anna Collie, a mother of three who had arrived in Johnson City for her studies 17 years earlier but left school to take a job and start her family.

Dec. 15, 2017: The Johnson City Press’ Mystery Diner gave a rave review to Gourmet and Company, telling readers the Reuben sandwich is something that “New York deli owners can only dream about.”
