In celebration of Maternity Care Month, the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center will host a baby shower for veterans welcoming a new baby into their family.

The event will include educational opportunities for new and expecting veteran parents. Refreshments, gifts, and door prizes will also be available.

“JHQVAMC serves over 4,000 women veterans and we want to take care of even more,” said Nichole Chapin, VA women veterans program manager. “Events like these get women through the doors so they meet VA health providers and learn firsthand about the comprehensive services and quality care VA provides to women who have served.”

The VA is seeking broad public participation and encourages veteran service organization members to participate. To learn about events at VA facilities, visit the local VA website or contact the Veteans Affairs Medical Center’s Women’s Health Department 423-926-1171, ext. 2989.

The baby shower will be held in Building 200, Room A061 (Conference Room) on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Those attending are asked to RSVP to Chapin at 423-926-1171 ext. 2989 or visit Eventbrite.com (search: VA Baby Shower).
