Update: Tennessee now able to issue driver licenses

The Tennessee Department of Safety issued an alert Monday that it was unable to issue driver licenses but later said the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators reported that its system was back online.

The AAMVA was experiencing a nationwide systems outage impacting the state of Tennessee’s ability to issue driver licenses. The association was monitoring service continuity and data activity.

The Tennessee Department of Safety issued an alert Monday that it was unable to issue driver licenses.

The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators was experiencing a nationwide systems outage  impacting the state of Tennessee’s ability to issue driver licenses.

“At this time, there is no timeframe when the systems will be available for service. As soon as updates become available, the department will pass it along,” the Department of Safety’s announcement read.
