Carter County Commission to fill vacancy in its ranks during December meeting

ELIZABETHTON — The Carter County Commission will be back to 24 members during its December meetings as it will select a new member to replace the late Ronnie Trivett, who died this month following a long battle with cancer.

The commission will select the new member at the start of its Monday, Dec. 16 meeting.

Citizens of the 3rd Commission District who would like to be considered for the position should come to the Carter County Courthouse and complete the application for appointment to boards and committees. Applicants may submit any other documents they wish the commission to consider in making the appointment.

Applicants are required:
 
• To be at least 18 years old.

• To be a citizen of the United States and Tennessee.

• Reside within and be a qualified voter of the 3rd Commission District.

• Not have been convicted in any court of a felony.

Applications should be submitted to Suite 102, County Court Clerk’s Office, 801 E. Elk Ave. Applications must be received by noon on Dec. 4.

All applicants will be given the opportunity to address the Commission prior to taking of the vote on Dec. 16.All applicants will be given the opportunity to address the commission during the Dec. 16 meeting.
