MORRISTOWN—David Crockett completed its first undefeated football season in school history Thursday night, and did so in resounding fashion.

Cade Larkins passed for three touchdowns, Donta Hackler and Micah Robinson scored two times apiece and the Pioneers walloped Morristown East 50-14 in a Region 1-5A contest.

Coach Hayden Chandley’s team will head into next week’s opening round of the playoffs with a 10-0 mark. Crockett finished 6-0 in the region while the Hurricanes capped a disappointing year at 2-8 overall (2-4 region).

A 52-yard pass from Larkins to Mark Seidler set up Prince Kollie’s 4-yard TD run for a 6-0 Pioneers edge. A 55-yard catch by Robinson keyed the next Crockett scoring drive, which ended with Larkins hitting Hackler on a 5-yard toss.

Moments after a Cole Hensley interception, Larkins and Robinson hooked up for a 77-yard touchdown in the second quarter. After East got on the board, Hackler returned the ensuing kickoff 97 yards for six points.

A.J. Boyd’s 27-yard field goal to end the half made it a 30-7 game.

Ronquille Joyner carried the football seven times on the next scoring foray for the Pioneers. He ended the march with a 1-yard run.

Robinson grabbing a 28-yard Larkins touchdown pass lifted Crockett to a 44-7 lead. Michael Robinson’s 5-yard run for the Pioneers capped all scoring.

In the first half, Hackler had a 73-yard score called back for holding.

Ballard finished 4-of-4 for 169 yards and three TDs, with Goddard totaling 101 yards on his two catches.
