Food City is celebrating its 100th year anniversary! Food City is a local company with roots right here in our region. In honor of our anniversary, we are celebrating in lots of ways, including food of course.

One way to celebrate is to buy store brands and be entered to win your share of $100,000 as a part of our 100th Anniversary Treasure Hunt. To enter, simply buy any five participating store brands, such as Food Club, Full Circle, Valuetime, TopCare, Simply Done, Culinary Tours, Misty Mountain water along with many other options. The more store brands you purchase, the better chance you have to win. Visit foodcity.com/treasurehunt for official rules and more information.

For the past 100 years, Food City has also been dedicated to supporting our communities through charitable organizations and events. Another way we are celebrating our 100th year anniversary is by donating $100,000 to some of our customers’ favorite charities. You can vote for your favorite organization through May 29 at foodcitycharitychallenge.com.

Lastly, at Food City, we are all about providing meal solutions for your family to help you get a healthy dinner on the table. We are celebrating 100 years by highlighting some of our favorite meal solutions throughout the store. For example, our Shortcuts section in the Produce Department provides fresh cut, prepped and washed produce ready to eat or cook.

In the Meat Department, our Meals in Minutes provide a marinated protein such as fish, beef or chicken along with a vegetable sealed in a steamable bag that can be cooked in the microwave or oven.

In the Bakery/Deli Department, grab-and-go items such as rotisserie chicken, freshly baked bread, and our signature salads and side dishes can make a dinner complete in no time.

In the aisles, you can stock up on a variety of pantry and freezer staples such as canned beans, rice and frozen vegetables that complement any entrée. For recipe inspiration, visit the Meal and Recipe Center at foodcity.com.

From those of us at Food City, thank you for making the last 100 years a success. Here’s to 100 more!
