Humorist, songwriter Aaron Wilburn to appear at two area churches

Humorist, songwriter and inspirational Aaron Wilburn will appear at two area churches on Sunday.

The Alabama native will speak at Rich Acres Free Will Baptist Church, 1245 King Springs Road, at 11 a.m.

At 6 p.m., he will be at Limestone Free Will Baptist Church, 3709 Old State Route 34 Limestone. A love offering will be accepted during this service.

According to a press release, Wilburn realized early in this life that he wanted to be a songwriter. He accomplished his goal by writing songs that reached No. 1 and receiving multiple Song of The Year, Dove Award and Grammy Award nominations. He was inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in Muscle Shoals.

Wilburn’s wit and humor have made him a beloved humorist/comedian, not only in the Christian world, but also in the secular world. He has received millions of views on Youtube. His travels with the Gaither Homecoming tour and his videos brought Wilburn to the attention of millions who ell in love with his down-home Southern humor and stories from everyday life.

Songs he is noted for include “If My Nose Was Running Money — I’d Blow It All On You,” “Puttin’ On the Dog” and “Cat’s In the Kettle.”

Since undergoing a kidney transplant in May 2010, Wilburn has become an ambassador for the Kidney Foundation.
