Celebrate Easter with an old-fashion egg hunt

Celebrate Easter this weekend with these local events:

Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt

The Memorial Park Community Center will home the annual Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt on April 18. The night starts at 7:30 p.m. and is over to children age 3-12. Special prizes will be given to those who find the golden eggs. A separate hunt will take place for children ages 5 and under. Old fashion games start at 7:30 p.m. and the hunt begins at 8:30 p.m. The Memorial Park Community Center is located at 510 Bert St. in Johnson City.

And Old-Fashioned Easter

The Town of Unicoi History Group will host the annual Old-Fashioned Easter event Friday, April 14, 1-3 p.m. at the Bogart-Bowman Cabin. The community is invited to join the celebration for an Easter egg hunt, games and prizes for children and adults and even a visit from the Easter Bunny. Additionally, participants are encouraged to wear a decorated Easter bonnet to be entered into the Easter Bonnet Design and Decoration Contest. Prizes will be awarded for the best entries in both the children and adult categories. Admission to the Old-Fashioned Easter is free and light refreshments will be provided. There will also be demonstrations of old-fashioned Easter egg dying techniques that will showcase the history of our area. The Bogart-Bowman Cabin is located at 5012 Unicoi Dr., in Unicoi. Kingsport East Egg Hunt with over 20,000 eggs

The 6th annual community Easter Egg Hunt with over 20,000 eggs will be held April 20. There will be free food, face painting, inflatables for kids, photos with the Easter Bunny, age divided egg hunts with one hunt for special needs children and big giveaways. This event is hosted by Preaching Christ Church in Downtown Kingsport and Food City on Eastman Road. They aim to make this a free event for all families to enjoy. The event will be at Andrew Johnson Elementary School at 1001 Ormond Dr. in Kingsport. This event begins at 11 a.m. A special needs Egg Hunt will kick the day off at noon.

12:20 p.m.: ages 0-2

12:40 p.m.: ages 3-5

1 p.m.: ages 6-8 p.m.

1:20 p.m.: ages 9-12
