Bartleby Program holds "Pitch Night" on Thursday

Business leaders, college educators and families are invited to join local business leaders and student entrepreneurs for the first-ever Bartleby Pitch Night this Thursday from 7-8:30 p.m. at the T.A. Dugger Junior High School auditorium.

Pitch Night will feature five student business pitches by outstanding students in the Bartleby entrepreneurship course at Elizabethton High School. This advanced educational program has given students the opportunity to not only develop a business plan, but also to launch their businesses in the community in order to meet an economic need. All Bartleby students have already been operating their businesses and generating profits.

At the event, there will be a board of sharks who will ask questions as they look to invest in the students’ businesses.

In addition, a whole lot more fun will be added to the night because everyone in the audience will also be a shark, and every person in the audience will be able to ask questions, share advice, make offers to invest in the students' businesses, and even offer jobs and internships to the students.

The students have already made their businesses successful, and now Elizabethton High School is showcasing their work and providing the public with the opportunity to become involved with the businesses and students.

There will be lots of interaction between the shark audience, the shark board and the students.

The event is open to the public.
