ELIZABETHTON — So, you think you have got a great “shooting” eye?

The Elizabethton Lions Club would like you to participate in the club’s first ever turkey shoot on Saturday from 3 p.m. until dark. Proceeds from the shoot will help with eye exams and other community services for children and adults in Carter County.

The turkey shoot will take place at the site of Muddfest, the property of Terry “Mudd” Montgomery near the intersection of U.S. Highway 19E and Lacy Hollow Road. Look for the vintage gas station signs.

You don’t need a gun to participate in the turkey shoot. The club will have loaner shotguns. All shells will be provided. The price is $5 per shot. Winners in each shoot will receive $25 gift certificates.

The Pizzeria of Elizabethton will be providing hot pizza by the slice. Concessions also include popcorn and soft drinks.

In case of rain, the turkey shoot will be held on Oct. 20.
