For the second summer in a row, the Press caught a group of young philanthropists raising money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by appealing to people’s thirst on a hot day.

Tyson, Brin, June and Kasnel Copp and Ellie Ledbetter put up their lemonade stand Tuesday on Sherwood Drive in Johnson City, offering free lemonade to thirsty people in the neighborhood and asking for a donation.

By the afternoon, the group said they’d raised more than $300 for the nonprofit seeking cures for children’s cancer and other diseases.

Last year, the group raised $1,000 over two days, half of it from a whopping $500 donation.
