Future Watauga resort hiring carpenters, workers

BUTLER — They will soon be hiring for new construction jobs in the mountains as workers are needed to build Blue Mountanya, the mountain resort that will be built on Watauga Lake in Butler.

The company is now accepting applications for jobs as carpenters and general construction workers.

The duties of the general construction workers will include helping tradesmen and machine operators in construction projects, erecting and breaking up scaffolding and ramps, and unloading and carrying materials at the construction site.

The duties of the carpenters will be to cut, fabricate and install wooden and other structures according to specifications. The job will entail working in diverse settings to produce steady and functional infrastructure and products. A release said a carpenter should have great hand dexterity and an eye for detail.

The carpenter’s responsibilities will include reading blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements; take measurements and calculate the size and amounts of material needed; cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material according to measurements; build window frames, doors, staircases, and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items; lay out flooring, roofing, or drywall ensuring they are leveled and comparable; inspect and conduct repairs or maintenance; build scaffolding and other construction structures.
