Ashley Grindstaff named president of Grindstaff Automotive Group

ELIZABETHTON — Grindstaff Automotive Group announced Thursday that Ashley L. Grindstaff has been appointed president and chief operating officer of the corporation

She has previously served as co-owner and chief operating officer of Grindstaff Kia. Under her leadership, the dealership has been ranked No. 1 in the district for 10 quarters in a row for excellence in customer satisfaction and ranked 28th in the nation among Kia dealers.

Ashley Grindstaff is married to Steve Grindstaff, founder and leader of Grindsatff Automotive.

She is also well-known outside of the automotive business for he philanthropy and for her hard work. When her family home burned several years ago, she worked to restore the castle and did much of the dirty cleanup with her own hands.

“I am excited to transfer the presidency to my wife, who has worked alongside me for almost 15 years,” Steve Grindstaff said. “Ashley is more than meets the eye, she consistently exhibits the same passion and genuine appreciation as I do for our customers, tirelessly gives her time to community philanthropy, works to uplift those she meets and most importantly, is a fiercely devoted mother to our three boys. I am proud to say that Ashley continually breaks barriers through her hard work, determination and dedication to our business, community and family.”

Grindstaff Automotive Group consists of five franchises that include Ford, Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep located in Elizabethton and Kia, located in Johnson City.

Grindstaff Automotive Group was founded in 1987 by Steve Grindstaff. His first step was to acquire the former Bunton Chevrolet in Elizabethton, and expanded his brand into Johnson City with Chevrolet, Cadillac, Volkswagen, Subaru and Kia. He also developed two additional Kia dealerships, located in Bristol and Kingsport, culminating with 14 separate locations. He eventually scaled back his operations to the current organization.
