Desonta Bradford was chosen as the Southern Conference’s player of the month and the team appeared in the Associated Press poll.
Bradford, the reigning SoCon player of the week, continued his stellar play, averaging 15.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game in January as the Bucs completed an undefeated month with nine victories.
In the AP poll, ETSU was listed in the “others receiving votes” position with one vote.
The Bucs are 21-4 and have won 15 games in a row, tying for the second-longest winning streak in school history. They try to tie the school record of the 2003-04 team Saturday at Virginia Military Institute.
Bradford got better as the month went on. Among his memorable moments was a basket with 4.5 seconds left that beat Furman 63-61. He also helped ETSU to a 73-71 victory over The Citadel by scoring 23 points.
Bradford’s February began even better than his January ended. He scored a career-high 31 points in a 96-76 victory over Samford and 22 in an 81-61 win against Chattanooga.
