Bats carry Cardinals past Bristol

BRISTOL—Eight of Johnson City’s nine batters contributed at least one hit Tuesday night, propelling the Cardinals to an 11-5 Appalachian League baseball conquest of Bristol.

Donivan Williams, Jonatan Machado, Nolan Gorman, Leandro Cedeno, Michael Perri and Brian Sanchez had two hits apiece for JC.

Cedeno recorded three RBIs, including a two-run home run in the ninth, while Williams totaled three runs.

Perri socked a pair of doubles, with Machado (2 RBIs), Sanchez (2 runs) and Gorman each adding a two-bagger.

Tommy Parsons (3-1) worked 5 1/3 innings for the victory, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and three walks.

Enrique Perez yielded two runs (one earned) over a pair of frames before Evan Sisk pitched 1 1/2 shutout innings.

The Pirates’ Zac Susi batted 2 for 3, scoring twice.
