A wild pitch coupled with a throwing error allowed Max Burt to score from second base in the bottom of the ninth inning, handing Pulaski a 1-0 decision over Elizabethton.
Burt socked a leadoff double off new pitcher Pedro Garcia (2-3) before Carlos Tatis lined out to second baseman Yunior Severino. With Jordan Scott standing in the batter’s box, a Garcia wild pitch and catcher Trevor Casanova’s off-target throw produced the game’s lone tally.
Burt doubled twice in a 3-for-5 showing. Casanova was a bright light offensively, batting 3 for 4 while teammate Trevor Lamach went 2 for 3.
The Twins totaled a half-dozen hits, with Pulaski collecting five.
Yankees starter Luis Gil struck out seven batters over five frames, then Wellington Diaz (2-1) worked the rest of the way.
Elizabethton’s Austin Schulfer and Carlos Suniago each tossed four innings.
The Twins put a man on third base in the fourth (Lamach), seventh (Lamach) and eighth innings (Severino) — and each time the runner was thrown out at home on a fielder’s choice play.
